HIKE

I couldn't make it to the mountains this week, so I decided to see what flowers I could find closer to home. The flowers shown here were found in empty fields in suburban Aurora. None of the fields are pristine prairie. The area used to be farmed, then it was rearranged for development. The flowers were found on land that is not planted in lawns, and was last mowed from a few months to a few decades ago.
