HIKE

The wildflowers and mushrooms from this hike are from the Aspen Campground and a short stretch of the Colorado Trail near by, and from general rambling through the woods between the two. The summer of 2006 was fairly wet, and we found lots of big mushrooms. We also found lots of purple asters. My wildflower book has page after page of purple asters, distinguished by fine points of the leaf patterns of the plants. I did not record that, so I just identify them all as unknown aster.
